2025 KIA Sportage Korea Spec

With Kia’s recent unveil of the 2026 Sportage in Korea, we’re getting our first look at what’s to come for this popular compact SUV. Here’s a quick rundown of the exciting updates that might be heading to Safford KIA of Fredericksburg, VA soon.

1. A Refreshing Facelift

The 2026 Kia Sportage sports a more refined look that aligns with Kia’s recent design language. The boomerang-shaped headlights of the previous model have been replaced by “Starmap” lights, a design now seen across Kia’s lineup. The grille has been stretched wider and taller, giving the front a stronger, more upright presence. For the adventure-oriented X-Line trim, expect a unique grille mesh and a more rugged bumper with integrated fog lights.

2. Upgraded Interior Tech and Comfort

Inside, the refreshed Sportage offers a simplified dashboard with a dual-screen setup, including a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and over-the-air updates will come standard, along with new tech features like a head-up display and fingerprint authentication for added security. The cabin design feels modern and spacious, thanks to a new gear-shift dial and Kia’s quirky “double D-cut” steering wheel. This unconventional wheel includes sensors for grip detection, supporting advanced driver assistance systems.

3. Possible Powertrain Changes

While the familiar 1.6-liter turbo hybrid engine will likely remain, the 2.5-liter engine may be replaced by a 2.0-liter option, similar to Kia’s new K4 model. Hybrid models will see an upgrade from a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to an eight-speed automatic, aiming to deliver a smoother drive. Additional sound insulation and refined suspension should make the 2026 model even more comfortable for everyday drives.

4. Advanced Driver Assistance Features

Safety tech is also seeing enhancements with the addition of Kia’s Highway Driving Assist 2, which can now help with lane changes. The new remote parking assist feature and augmented reality navigation further emphasize Kia’s commitment to driver convenience. These upgrades align the Sportage with some of the latest high-tech features seen in premium vehicles.

When Can We Expect It?

While the 2026 Sportage has just launched in Korea, we expect it to reach the U.S. market in the coming months, possibly with a few U.S.-specific tweaks. Pricing is anticipated to start slightly above the current model, which starts at $27,190.
