How Safe Is The 2025 Kia K4?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Association has awarded the 2024 K5 a five-star overall safety rating. This makes it one of the safest compact sedans Kia has ever made with good ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. One key factor in this achievement is that the K5 comes with many standard safety features including pedestrian detection, driver-attention monitoring, a rear-seat alert, and vehicle exit warning.
For installing child safety seats, there are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the K5’s rear outboard seats and a tether anchor for the rear middle seat. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave this LATCH system the second-highest rating of Acceptable for its ease of use because the lower anchors are set too deeply in the seats.

To qualify for the 2024 IIHS TSP Award, vehicles need “good” ratings in the small overlap front, original moderate overlap front, and updated side tests, an “acceptable” or “good” rating in the pedestrian front crash prevention evaluation, and “acceptable-” or “good-” rated headlights across all trim levels. The K4 was able to get “good” ratings in the small overlap front, original moderate overlap front, updated side, and pedestrian front crash prevention tests, and received an “acceptable” rating for headlights.
