Kia has conformed that it will be discontinuing the Rio in the U.S. after the 2023 model year. As of now it looks like the Kia K3 will become the replacement for the Rio, which will most likely be a more expensive upgrade. The Rio was a subcompact vehicle offered as a sedan as well as a hatchback, with both at a very affordable price just under $20,000.

While the 2023 pricing for the Forte starts at $20,815, the pricing for the upcoming 2024 model has yet to be announced. Since Kia has recently revealed the K3 as a new small sedan, it is expected that the K3 will replace both the Rio and the Forte in the future. However, it is unlikely to have a starting price below $20,000. More information on this exciting new model will be released some time later this year, with the possibility of it arriving in the U.S. for the 2025 model year.
