For 2020, Kia made smartphone connectivity a standard feature by equipping the Sportage’s infotainment system with Android Auto TM and Apple CarPlay TM . The maker also doubled down on the SUV’s safety with new standard driver assistance features like pedestrian detection.

The 2020 Sportage comes in four trim levels:

The base LX comes standard with a touchscreen and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay TM and Android Auto TM . It also features safety tools like brake assist, forward collision warning, a rearview camera, and a driver attention monitor. In the S trim, you’ll find additional safety features like rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring, plus smooth leatherette upholstery in the cabin. You can also add available features like a sunroof and proximity keyless entry.

The EX trim comes with comfort and convenience upgrades like heated front seats, push-button start, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control. In addition to a multitude of the trim range’s features, the SX Turbo is equipped with a 240-horsepower turbocharged engine.

Interior Review

Kia spared no detail to make the Sportage a comfortable vehicle, and its handsome cabin can seat five with abundant legroom and overhead space. Smooth surfaces line the cabin, and soft cloth upholstery comes standard. For an even more refined ride, you can opt for available amenities like simulated or genuine leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more.

Space

Your youngest passengers may be safely secured in the back with two sets of LATCH car seat connectors. Behind the rear seats, the SUV comes with 30.7 cubic feet of storage space. You can also fold the rear seats flat to open up a total of 60.1 cubic feet for cargo.

Performance of the 2020 Kia Sportage

As the name implies, the Sportage delivers a decidedly sporty ride with precise steering and maneuverability. Kia’s suspension takes the impact out of bumps in the road, and the SUV remains balanced around turns. The standard engine for the first three trim levels is a 181-horsepower 4-cylinder mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. If you opt for the range-topping SX Turbo build, you’ll enjoy the extra energy of the 240-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder. The Sportage comes standard with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available for every trim.
