A white 2020 Kia Sorento driving on a mountain road.

If you’re not sure which trim level of the Kia Sorento meets your needs and lifestyle, we’ve broken it down to help you see what features are included with each trim.

The base trim of the Kia Sorento is the L trim. Power in the L comes from Kia’s popular 2.4-liter, DOHC four-cylinder engine that offers 185 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Inside the cabin, you’ll find high-quality cloth upholstery, seating for seven, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, USB ports, and a six-speaker sound system.

The next trim up is the LX, which adds the option for a V6 engine that provides 290 horsepower and over 250 lb.-ft. of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Other upgrades include standard roof rails, more paint options, a noise-reducing windshield, more USB ports, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

There is also a Convenience package available in this trim that includes dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power passenger seat, satellite radio, and rear parking sensors.

Moving up to the S trim offers the V6 engine standard, 19-inch black wheels, black exterior accents, and makes the Convenience package amenities of the LX trim standard.

Buyers looking at the EX trim will find standard fog lights, 18-inch wheels, noise-reducing front windows, leather upholstery, rear climate control, a hands-free power liftgate, and Kia’s UVO eServices app. The EX trim has a more robust driver assistance suite with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a driver attention warning, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist.

There is a Touring package available in the SX trim that offers a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, an amplifier, subwoofer, an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a panoramic sunroof, LED interior lighting, front parking sensors, a heated steering wheel, and more.

The SX trim brings athletic exterior styling in the form of a sporty grille with chrome trim, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED running lights, low-profile roof rails, a stainless steel rear bumper, and painted brake calipers. Inside, a 14-way power driver’s seat with memory settings and all of the features of the EX’s Touring packages are standard. You’ll also get a wireless phone charging pad.

There is a Touring package for the SX trim for drivers who desire ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, retractable rear sunshades, a birds-eye view camera, and upgraded LED headlamps.
