The base trim of the Kia Sorento is the L trim. Power in the L comes from Kia’s popular 2.4-liter, DOHC four-cylinder engine that offers 185 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Inside the cabin, you’ll find high-quality cloth upholstery, seating for seven, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, USB ports, and a six-speaker sound system.
The next trim up is the LX, which adds the option for a V6 engine that provides 290 horsepower and over 250 lb.-ft. of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Other upgrades include standard roof rails, more paint options, a noise-reducing windshield, more USB ports, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
There is also a Convenience package available in this trim that includes dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power passenger seat, satellite radio, and rear parking sensors.
Moving up to the S trim offers the V6 engine standard, 19-inch black wheels, black exterior accents, and makes the Convenience package amenities of the LX trim standard.
Buyers looking at the EX trim will find standard fog lights, 18-inch wheels, noise-reducing front windows, leather upholstery, rear climate control, a hands-free power liftgate, and Kia’s UVO eServices app. The EX trim has a more robust driver assistance suite with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a driver attention warning, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist.
