Step Inside the 2022 Kia Carnival

Kia has combined the practical and useful features of the minivan with the spacious interiors seen in SUV’s creating the amazing Carnival MPV (multi-purpose vehicle). The Kia Carnival has so much to offer inside the luxurious interior. You may not be a fan of minivans but once you take a look inside, you’ll see the hype and practicality of this MPV.
Seating Arrangements
As you step inside, it may seem like a roomier minivan but it’s so much more than that. First of all, the interior colors catch your eye. There are a few color choices such as off-black, Tuscan Umberm Saddle Brown, and Gray all mixed with two-tone cloth, Syntex, or leather. The Carnival has a seating capacity of 7 or 8 passengers depending on if you get a second-row bench or bucket seating. The front seats are spacious and comfortable with great views of everything around you. Where the magic is located in the passenger rows. If you do choose the bench seat, the middle seat folds down easily as a cupholder with a small tray or you can remove it completely. Best of both worlds with the bench seat. My personal favorite is the bucket seats but having that option is great. Let’s talk about how much space is available in the second row. There is a ton of space, you can fit two rear-facing car seats on the left and right with plenty of room for an adult to fit between the two and buckle safely. If you choose the Kia Carnival in the SX Prestige, it has VIP lounge seats. These seats recline into the ultimate relaxation position at the touch of a button. They fully recline with a footrest, bet you’ve never seen that in a minivan before. Imagine how much better all those long road trips would have been as a kid if you had those seats, pretty sweet. Did I mention that these seats not only move forwards and backward, they can also be moved side to side to create less or more room between the seats? Yeah, Kia did that. The third-row seats fold down into the cargo space for a level loading area. They can be folded easily with just one hand. The rear seats are not power-fold but it is quicker to just pull the level and do it yourself rather than holding a button and waiting for the seats to go up/down.
Interior Features
There is storage galore inside the Kia Carnival. Let’s start with upfront. There are two standard cupholders between the two front seats. There are two additional cupholders located on the back of the armrest which gives the driver easy access to them for themselves or to hand to the kiddos. Second-row storage is located in the door panels along with the seatback pockets and a center console which also has two more cupholders along with a small tray. The third row has a cupholder and a small compartment next to it. Needless to say, there is plenty of space for snacks and little nick-knacks. We live in a tech-friendly world so our vehicles should stay up with the times too. One thing I really like about the Kia Carnival is the amount of charging ports located throughout the MPV. There are USB, standard plugs, and cigarette lighter style ports located in all three rows. No one’s IPAD will die again. If you upgrade to the SX Prestige, they also have entertainment screens mounted on the headrests preloaded with apps such as Netflix, Baby Shark Games, and YouTube. These screens also double as sound machines for your littles as they nap between errands. It’s a win-win for everyone when you’re riding in style in the 2022 Kia Carnival.
